Nextgen is the highly impressive and incredibly complex portal developed by myself and the team at Metrikus to evolve and power forward from an outdated platform to then push us forward and create smarter buildings for our consumers.
Regesign.
As a lead UX/UI I was faced with the task of bringing a V3 platform on a pre existing external server to a modern day V4 platform fully self sufficient. Working closely with the product team we needed to create a platform which would act as a portal for a business to monitor and manage every product and asset to create a smart building.
Moiving to the Future.
Having already built large components for the pre-existing system, migrating and merging this in a new ingestible, but feasible way was a bigger task than initially planned. New interactive panels, more efficiency and better API integrations were top of my list when initially storyboarding these plans with our development team.
Simplified.
The task was simple in theory, however creating a new system to replace a platform that existing users both loved and hated posed new threats, new excitement and a great sense of achievement.
